Awakened Mindz

What is Reality? Except for a pre-concieved notion deciphered by the limitations that an upbringing within a modern society can super impose upon humanity. How the few control the many to believe that what we experience in our waking state is all that there is to our lives, when there is so much more of a deeper resonance to our existence on this earth plane than our human eye and our five senses could ever hope to discover. Know the answer, don't ask it...we are each a part of the universal mind, our knowledge is infinite, it is within our capacity to live our dream as we reach out of our structured little boxes....Disobey all forms of tyranny of the mind, body and spirit, know thy self to be truly set free!!!

Inanna & Tiamat

Inanna is regarded as a daughter of the sky-god An. But she was also seen as the daughter of the moon-goddess Ningal and her consort Nanna. She is the sister of the underworld goddess Ereschkial and of the sungod Utu.

The Sumerian great "Lady Queen of Heaven" (Ninanna) who appears in two sources: the Gilgamesh Epic, where she aids the hero and tries to seduce him, and in the Cycle of Inanna, a collection of poems concerning her relation - in life and death - to her brother and lover, the vegetation-god Dumuzi (akk. Tammuz).
Inanna figures prominently in various myths, such as 'Inanna's descent to the underworld'.
In this particular myth she travels to the realm of the dead and claims its ruling. However, her sister Ereshkigal, who rules the place, sentences her to death. With Inanna's death, however, nature died with her and nothing would grow anymore. Through the intervention of the god Enki she could be reborn if another person took her place. She choose her beloved consort Dumuzi, who would from then on rule the underworld every half year. This myth has some relations to the Demetermyth as well as to celtic believes. The vegetation dies and gets reborn. Tiamat was the ancient Sumero-Babylonian personification of the primordial salt waters of chaos. With her consort Apsu, the 'sweet' water, Tiamat mothered the first generation of the gods.

Tiamat took the form of a gigantic winged dragon, whose body was split in two by the hero marduk to create the heavens and the firmament: her upper body became the vault of heaven; the lower, the earth; her blood, the oceans.

Day of the Dead Celebration Ball

History of The Day of the Dead, All Souls Day, is an official holiday of the Catholic Calendar. All Souls Day is on November 2, following All Saints Day.
The choice of November 2 is traditionally attributed to St. Odilo, the fifth abbot of Cluny (city of France famous for the Abby), because he wanted to follow the example of Cluny in offering special prayers and singing the Office of the Dead on the day following the feast of All Saints.

The day was founded to honor all the faithful departed and along with the offerings and the Office of the Dead, there are three Requiem Masses that are said by the clergy to assist the souls from Purgatory to Heaven.

The modern view of death derives in part from Pre-Hispanic times. The Aztecs played a very important role in the development of this tradition. Through their history this festival emerged as one of complexity and varied interpretations.

The Aztecs had various perceptions of their world. Perceptions as simplistic as a "flat disc" surrounded by water, to a toad floating in a water-lily filled sea. In this world were contained different directions with various associated colors and symbols to each direction and level. One of the most important of these interpretations is that of the terms of a person's death.

The Aztecs believed that after a person died, his/her soul would pass through nine levels prior to their final destination, Mictlan - the place of the dead. They also believed that a person's destiny was founded at birth and that the soul of that person was dependent on the type of death rather than the type of life lead by that person. How a person died would also determine what region they would go to. Once they arrived to their specific region a person's soul would either await transformation or linger, awaiting the next destiny.

Two months of the Aztec calendar were devoted to the dead. The ninth month was dedicated to infants, and the tenth month included a great feast for dead adults.

The Spanish Conquest of 1521 brought about the fusion of Catholic attitudes and indigenous beliefs. The Day of the Dead was revealed as a result of amalgamation of Pre-Spanish Indian ritual beliefs and the imposed ritual and dogma of the Catholic church.

"Then what are you?" asked the student, exasperated.

The disciples were absorbed in a discussion of Lao-tzu’s dictum: "Those who know, do not say; Those who say, do not know." When the master entered, they asked him what the words meant. Said the master, "Which of you knows the fragrance of a rose?" All of them indicated that they knew. Then he said, "Put it into words."
All of them were silent.

Do not believe what you yourself have imagined,
persuading yourself that a God inspires you.

Shamans believe that everyone has power animals, animal spirits which reside within each individual adding to their power and protecting them from illness, acting similarly to a guardian angel. Each power animal that you have increases your power so that illnesses or negative energy cannot enter your body. The spirit also lends you the wisdom of its kind.A hawk spirit will give you hawk wisdom, and lend you some of the attributes of hawk.

Everyone is thought to have a few of these guardian power animals or it is thought that the individual could not survive childhood.Over the course of her or his life the person may have several. If a power animal leaves and one does not come to take its place the individual is considered, by the shaman, to be disempowered and therefore vulnerable to illness and bad luck. Do you know your power animal?

In honor of the ancient teacher plant spirit that leads one through inter-dimensional journies of inner space.
Morning Glory Buddha

On life's journey, Faith is nourishment,
Virtuous deeds are a shelter,
Wisdom is the light by day and
Right mindfulness is the protection by night.
If a man lives a pure life nothing can destroy him;
If he has conquered greed nothing can limit his freedom.
                     Buddha
